Live Headline 14-Nov-01 08:32 ET Economic Data : Retail Sales soared 7.1% in October, far above the 2.5% consensus and easily erasing what was once thought to be a huge decline of 2.4% in September. Excluding auto sales, which were driven sharply higher by incentives, sales rose a more modest 1.0%, still far better than the 0.2% consensus. This report suggests that the economy was much more resilient after Sep 11 than expected, and should be a positive for the market. Briefing.com
