I agree. The end game will have:

At the least: the US cleaning up some of the Madrasas in Pakistan to stop these fundamentalist brain washing. Probably done with diplomatic pressure only.

At the most: An active military entry into Pakistan to take care of the Nukes and get rid of the existing training camps there and may be also the Taliban leaders in hiding there.

The problem is how does the US do this without getting the rest of the Muslim world ticked off. Given that the US has made Pakistan their "ally" it may be very difficult for them to now turn on Pakistan without destroying their image and thus creating more enemies.

I think the end game could also play out as follows:

The Northern Alliance takes more and more of Afghanistan. The Pashtuns and Mullahs of Pakistan get pissed and Mussaraf's government falls. The US then uses the pretext of this instability to enter Pakistan and do its cleaning up.
