Tony - Re: "You know the guy from Deutchland over on the AMD Mod thread that keeps listing the top 10 microprocessors at some store in Dresden or something, and they're always all AMD? Well here's PC World's top 15 notebook computers, and 14 are Intel based.

Peter Luc - of course, he grabs data from a shop that is 99%AMD product only !

As I said - Intel needs to SubPoena this clown and his AMD Uber Sales data in Germany - so that Intel can go to the EU and tell them that Mad Man Sanders' whiny claim about "Intel monopoly" is just plain AMD sour grapes.

By the way - thanks for the info on the BEST notebook computers !

Paul

Tony, Re: "the whole thread sucked it up without anyone saying, yeah, but isn't that essentially an AMD-captive store?"

Actually, I brought this up several times. But according to them, I'm just an Intellabee. I'd say almost anything to rain on their parade.

Tony, "Well here's PC World's top 15 notebook computers, and 14 are Intel based"

I do not know on what planet the PC_World is and what
kind of top they wear, but on a regular _retail_ planet, say at Best Buy, in America:

bestbuy.com

Intel:AMD ratio is 18:8

At www.CircuitCity.com the ratio is 11:6.
If you are not too lazy, go visit any local shop.
On retail shelves the ratio could be close to 6:4
or even 5:5. (It was not this high a couple of month
ago, but things do change in this world).

So, don't be blown away prematurely by the 14:1
aberration.

It was also a hoot that the # 6 favorite product was a K6-2. Was it you that pointed to that gem?
