The engine separated from the bird as
did the vertical stablizer and a few
other parts. An explosion is the
only thing that could have caused that,
IMO.

At 3000 feet and slow it would have been
an easy target for a stinger missile.

I hope that wasn't the case, but I've not
seen any plausible explanations, yet.
