SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- BEA Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BEAS - news), one of the world's leading application infrastructure software companies, today announced results of its fiscal third quarter. For the third quarter ended October 31, 2001, BEA reported total revenues of $219.6 million, including license fees of $126.6 million. BEA's cash position continues to be strong, as cash flow from operations improved to $45.6 million, and BEA has more than $1.1 billion in cash, cash equivalents, short-term investments and restricted cash on the balance sheet. BEA reported pro forma operating income for the third quarter of $31.0 million and pro forma operating margin of 14.1 percent. BEA reported pro forma net income of $24.2 million and pro forma diluted net income per share of $0.06 for the third quarter. Pro forma results exclude impairment charges and acquisition-related expenses, employer payroll taxes on stock options, net gains or losses on investments in securities, and other non-recurring charges.
