<< They have been trying to do this very thing with Israel the Palestinians and the Arab states for years with no success. >>

Clinton wanted to sell out Israel, so he could be listed in the history books as a great peace maker. Israel could not accept an unjust peace, which would lead to their destruction.

Israel can't make peace with the Palestinians because the Palestinian leaders are only interested in the destruction of Israel.

Pakistan is not interested in the destruction of India, only in Kashmir. But, Pakistan has been under radical leaders, like the Palestinians. Now, under Musharraf's leadership, and with Musharraf cozying up to the west, the relationship between Pakistan and India WILL change. It has to.

Musharraf will have a freer hand, now that he has started removing extremists from his government. If he lives, we WILL see a more compromising on his part, since he does not have to placate the extremists anymore.

I'll bet that Musharraf extends a peace offering to India shortly.
