I am surprised that it has taken this long. However, I think that we are getting our party hats on too quickly. If this is a war against terrorism, we are just going over the first hurdle and have a few more right in front of us. I read on another thread an important point, we are not fighting for peace in Afghanistan, we are fighting for peace in the U.S. I think that the way that the media is treating this is indicative of a predominantly short term view of what is going on. When we hadn't won this with big fireworks in the first couple of weeks, the newsmedia started to get critical and questioned our mission. Now that we have some progress, it seems like everybody is ready for the ticker tape parade. Well folks, if peace in the US is the objective, we've got a long way to go.
