Just working from memory here... According to my history. Aloo-minum was discovered in the UK. The first Atlantic cable had been laid and they sent the news over to the US of A. There was a mis spelling The UK had just discovered Al-U-minnie-yum Because of the mis spelling (and NY accent -g-) they read "Whats this"??? Al... Al???? looks like the limeys have discovered "ALOO-minum" -g- It's given me loads of headaches working with the stuff in both countries, that and the friggin date format -g- I always get it wrong -ggg-
