I agree that a good OS is something you would never reinstall. But unfortunately, Windows in all versions seems to be something you reinstall from time to time, just as Windows is better if you do a clean install instead of an upgrade. I would never accept only to have my OS on the harddisk. Even on a laptop.

How would you replace a crashed harddisk if you haven't got an installation CD?
