Ousted Afghan President Rabbani to return to Kabul Wednesday
AFPD
(Doha, Nov 13)
Ousted Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabbani has told Qatar's Al-Jazeera satellite channel he intends to return to the Afghan capital Kabul Wednesday following his forces chasing out the ruling Taliban militia.
"I plan to go back to Kabul tomorrow," Rabbani said on Tuesday. He was deposed by the Taliban in 1996 but is still recognized as Afghanistan's president by the United Nations.

The Afghan envoy in Dushanbe earlier said Rabbani intended to return to Kabul in the next two or three days.

The Afghan capital fell to the Northern Alliance opposition Tuesday.http://www.hindustantimes.com/nonfram/141101/dlame03.asp

Yeah, let's not mention great news like this CNN!

Afghan women can go back to work and school
AFP
(Kabul, November 13)

The opposition Northern Alliance on Tuesday told Afghan women that they could back to work and school, overturning bans by the Islamic Taliban regime.
The announcement was made in a statement issued after the Alliance captured the capital of Kabul.

"The mujahideen give the good news to all sisters and women of Afghanistan that they have the right to pursue education and work in accordance with Islamic teaching and based on our honorable traditions," it said.

The statement, issued in the name of the Islamic State of Afghanistan, also said the alliance would "provide opportunities for work and training for the women of Afghanistan."

Ish,

There is one thing that keeps nagging in the back of my mind. Saudi Arabia, supposedly our steadfast ally, is the country of the cities of Medina, and Mecca, the two holiest cities in Islam. Most of the terrorists on 9/11 were Saudis. Makes me wonder if Afghanistan is the only hotbed we will have to deal with to achieve the preferred end result.
