Zeev,

Looking over SI, it seems that quite a few folks are hung up on the VIX & to a lesser extent the VXN being in traditionally bullish to neutral levels. I know you concern yourself more with whether they have turned rather than their absolute numbers. However, is it not unreasonable to assume we have to build in some event risk into these volatility indicators? There's a significant amount of 'nervousness' although folks don't want to miss the train. Look at how the market & put/calls jumped when that AA Flight 587 crashed yesterday..............

I would think that VIX @ 28.5 today, <<with a high of 57.31 on Sept 21, which is at least a 3 yr high>> the VIX might be nearing an extreme, or perhaps a turning point, all things considered.

Any thoughts?

Tim
