You know, Pearly, with such a reasonable and balanced view of the priorities and constraints of presidencies, I'd like to make you an honorary Murcan. Get ready to gain forty pounds and have three pair of sneakers appear in your closet.

On a more serious note, I think all politicians are at the mercy of the "the people". Clinton saw that the citizens of the USA wanted action on local issues. He did that. He also played an international image of "democrat".. The concerned world citizen human. Politics is always a dirty game. The flaws are being seized upon by the republicans.

No matter how good a politician is, something is always left on the back burner,

After 911 all of a sudden foreign affairs are a hot topic. Bush has changed and altered his outlook to suit. He has done a good job at that imho.

I didn't vote for Bush, but have been delighted with how how quickly and thoroughly he has educated himself on foreign affairs issues and developed into a leader respected by the world community. I am dying to see photos of him and Putin riding horses on the Texas ranch, BTW. Putin always struck me as old-time actor Frank Goshen....
