Constantine, <As long as it's competitive in real world benches, who cares what the Mhz is?>

If Pentium 4 at 3.0 GHz beats a "Hammer 3400," do you think AMD will adjust their "QuantiSpeed" ratings accordingly? I don't think so.

Re: "It seems to me ( judging from AMD's cpu prices ) that the quantispeed marketing is working. "

This is PURE BALONEY !!

Here in Silicon Valley, there is probably a HIGHER DENSITY of computer knowledgeable people than any other place in the world.

Down at Fry's Electronics (where I went today) where engineers and technical people by the thousands shop - AMD had to post a FIVE PAGE MEMO on the CPU Display rack to try and explain AMD's "QuantiSpeed " Mularkey.

A FIVE PAGE MEMO !! In the HIGHEST TECH STORE LESS THAN 300 YARDS FROM AMD's RENTED HEADSQUARTERS !!!

Even the engineers and technicians in Silicon Valley can't understand that Smoke and Mirrors trickery !
