Thanks, EP. I haven't seen that movie since I was a wee lad, and all I remember is the monkeys jumping up and down with bones. It's a Kubric film, so I'll have to see it sometime.

Heuristic means to support learning (i.e., HAL was programmed to learn) - at least I think that's what it means... college was a while ago.

And yes, I learned it in class, not during a drunken Kubrick "film-a-thon"
