Did you "clear history" or reset the days? I have the same problem you experienced.

(I just cleared history and it is set for 99 days.)

Hawkmoon,

I don't know all the details, but I remembered that IE6 sets up some new locations for things like the temporary files. If it does something similar with History, the changes you thought you made may have gotten misplaced or applied to the wrong folder? I'm sure I don't know, but glad the thought got you going in the right direction.
