Karen, my contention was that Mr. North never lied under oath. In that I did not see what Oliver North saw and did not see the totality of all his reasons I might question what he did, but I would not without knowing all kinds of details be critical. On 911 we saw micro mini tiny small terror attack. Extremely small. Well if one thinks of the state the Soviet Union and who and how it was run and the tens of million who were murdered, starved, imprisoned and used like cattle worked to death, 911 is very small. Oliver North saw a lot of what the Soviet Union was about up close and personal. He considered them an evil that also had the power to destroy America. Remember once nuclear missiles were placed minutes away from America by the Soviet Union. Now the Soviet Union wanted to create another puppet state of slavers on the continent. Yes this was the same Soviet Union that subverted half of Europe into the Communist economic disaster system and enslaved the people. Do you think any morality existed to check the Soviet terrorist Union other than the will of America to not let it happen. Also this was a time when the Soviet Union was paying for the stupidity of their system and dying within economically. This is the time when a nation state lead by old men dictators becomes the most dangerous. This was the time of the start of the PC democrats against seeing the reality of the danger of the Soviet Union and the Boland Amendment came out of that attempt to restrain the fight against the terrorism. Yes no doubt Oliver North did what he believed to be right. No doubt others higher up knew what was going on and authorized it. Thank God men with common sense will risk their political careers to do what is right. So on balance I will extend every benefit of the doubt. One of the things they found Oliver North guilty was accepting a gratuity. That was a many tens of thousand dollar security system. If Oliver North says he believed that he had been threatened, do you believe him. I sure do. Well to me to seek to convict on that charge has witch hunt written all over it. There was a real enemy, there were real people with lives at risk and a can do man got it done. In the world of right and wrong, lying to cover ones ass over and over when you are the President elevates all errors.
