The problem here isn't in the Middle East. It's domestic. Jews in the US have a significant amount of wealth and political influence and tilt US foreign policy to favor Israel. And before you or someone else unleashes the anti-Semite charge: My wife is Jewish. Obviously I have many Jewish relatives and friends (although that viewpoint isn't too popular among them.) I've been to many rosh hosannas, YomKippurs, and bar and bas mitvahs. I have a pretty good impression of the majority of those people. Which still doesn't change reality.
