I'm thinking the shortcuts in question could be a backwards compatibility thing enabling DI to find what it needs in earlier versions of windows (where \system32 may or may not exist). Probably not applicable or ever called on XP. You can choose to ignore the problem in Windoctor and if everything is ok when you restore your image you can choose to delete the invalid shortcuts

TC,I think you have hit the nail on the head with your WAG! Drive Image works in Dos and is backward compatible to Win Me/Win98, so it makes perfect sense and I am going to take your advice and ignore the whole da*n thing. :)..........still I really would like to be able to read those PIF files. Just kidding! Thanks for the help.
