Hi Doc,

Thanks, but vis-a-vis that one, I'll keep my own counsel. Traders can be long or short plays, but plays they are. I did look at shorting WEBX today, but found it was Restricted and no shares available to short. Shame it's restricted as recent down line is still going and it's not yet at support - guess I'll have to wait for reversal - perhaps short covering will give it a kick. Often issues that are restricted move nicely on breakout - LVLT is another that is shown to be restricted.

Slightly OT:
Always find it interesting how certain people manage to short stocks that have been listed as restricted by NASDAQ. By way of education, the following may be interesting:

Q. What are restricted stocks?

A. Securities restricted by UPC 11830 are NASDAQ securities that, as published by the NASD, show an aggregate clearing short position of 10,000 shares or more and that are equal to at least 0.5% of the total shares outstanding of the issue. In practice, securities falling into this category are difficult to borrow.

Q. What is the UPC 11830?

A. UPC 11830 Indicator is only required for real-time quotations of Nasdaq National Market and Nasdaq SmallCap securities. Distributors are required to display a special restricted indicator on all real-time quotation displays for individual Nasdaq National Market or Nasdaq SmallCap Market issues. The UPC Indicator is commonly displayed as "R" (for restricted). The Nasdaq Stock Market, in cooperation with the National Securities Clearing Corporation, publishes a daily list of securities restricted under Uniform Practice Code 11830. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requires National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD®) members to close out short sales in Nasdaq securities that meet a certain clearing short position threshold.

Wonder where these people find shares to short? Or how they continue hold them if the brokerage is required to close out short sales. No matter. Maybe I'm just undercapitalized <VBG>.
