Just thinking out loud for a minute.

All these economists that you hear are saying the recession should/will end in Feb of '02 and the market being a forward looking indicator is now rising in anticipation of this recovery. And now is the time to buy stocks!

Yet When you listen to the CEOs of companies that are reporting, they say they don't know when things will pick up.

Who is right? Who to listen to? Again, I'm just thinking out loud here. Who had a better track record? Who knows their industries better? CEOs or economists? What would be the benefits of a CEO sayintg they see no pick up in sight? What would be the benefits of these analysts(most employed by brokerage houses) to say the econo will bottom in Feb?
