OT - Brian, I'll make one final comment on this issue and then stop posting off-topic here.

Shorts do not profit from the misery and suffering of others. They profit from investors who choose to sell their positions for whatever reason. There is a difference my friend.

I see shorting as an insurance policy for many.

I don't short stocks but if I was a trader or wanted to I would short NVLS to protec my LRCX gains if I wanted to avoid a short term taxable gain, etc...

Do you respect Warren Buffet? Warren made a TON of money selling insurance to people for decades who feared something like the 9/11 attack. He will make even more after he pays the claims due as he will raise rates and banks will demand terrorist insurance for buildings they have loans on.

I respect your views, but I think taking hard and fast moral lines is difficult when you look at the large picture on all issues.
