>>I don't see any contradiction. The core companies are moving towards profitability satisfactorily, and the holding company is streamlining and focusing on the core companies. <<

you saw the contradiction and that is why you changed the words from the press release. the release said "all of our companies" and you said "the core companies." why? to clear up the contradiction you say didn't exist. ;-)

>>So losses are NOT the same as cash burn.<<

correct. so, what was the cash burn? $100 to $300 million annualized? not much breathing room there...

>>They said they would buy up to $300 million of debt, for $295 per $1000 of face value. So even if they got all $300 it would have cost them less than $100.<<

thios wan't mentioned in the article. if true, the lenders have all but given up on icge as an viable entity.

>>However in the end only $120mm was tendered up, so they spent something like $40m to buy it. A very good deal IMHO.<<

aha! i was dead on. they touted $350 million and ponied up 1/3 that amount. i knew they were bsing with the $350 figure. it was a great deal given to icge by lenders who don't believe icge would ever be able to pay them back the full amount.
