I didn't know that. I figured once you got big enough to own servers and lease lines that you were, in effect, part of the internet and your own ISP. I thought, incorrectly, that ISPs were the gateways to the internet for retail customers like me.

I presume AOL is its own ISP. Would a site like Fool.com be its own ISP or contract that to someone else?
