Tom Stephens on CBC radio right now, says 'i am embarrassed by my government's actions in this case' ... 'acting as a bully' ... 'for a few campaign contributions' ... etc ... now saying 'got to work from the grassroots ... get the US consumer onside' ... couldn't catch it all, had a phone call

Stephens is a US national from Arkansas, he was CEO of MacMillan Bloedel at the last before Weyerhaeuser took it over ..... wy.nyse just announced this morning that they would shut down Canadian White Pine permanently ... that's roughly a 500-man mill that's been around many decades ... another mill as well ... there are many previous shutdowns/closures by them and other companies since the Kommerzwaffe assault began

Night before last i had a post made up, it started with arsenic and douglas fir and got off into, guess what, politics -g- ... but this stupid browser froze, lost it ..... later, cheers

[edit] - mb.to/wy.nyse - endgame.org

Canadian White Pine started up in 1926 - worksafebc.com ... first mill owned by H R MacMillan Export

A lady in the interior has just registered the trademark 'denim pine' for marketing of beetle-killed pine ... the bugkill turns a nice shade of blue while retaining its strength and workability characteristics for some time, a year or more ... this is one of those Very Good Ideas perhaps, to take a product traditionally discounted and up-market it ... i have seen people select it out [some can have other defects besides colour] for special uses, and somewhere i've seen walls done in it, not my favourite shade but some will like it .... years ago there were people collecting considerable teredo wood, old boomsticks and stragglers from booms etc, there are lots of rec room walls done in that ... plenty of places to store your pencil, lol .... it sure stunk while they were sawing it, and until fully dried ... but people paid double for all those holes, go figure -g-

Don't know what's up on the Commerzwaffe assault, got to read the news .... cheers
