Yes, I guess it's too much to expect of a chicken that it should clean up its own poop.

The oil producers had better be really careful what they do next, don't you think? I was certainly glad to hear Bush following through on his criticism of Clinton over the strategic reserve and talking about filling it back up at these slightly lower prices. I wish the Cheney would start talking up nuclear power again.

But I do wish Bush would back down on his opposition to federalizing airport security. It would relieve the airlines of an expense that really should not be theirs anyway, and government money would stimulate the development of new kinds of security equipment. The degree of security ought not to depend on the willingness of airlines to pay for it and the reliability of individual airport authorities to supervise it. It ought to be a strictlty disciplined, nationwide corps of security professionals.

Since, unlike some people, I am unable to predict exactly by how much and in what direction energy prices will move, I am continuing to hold a pretty good bit in various kinds of oil and NG stocks on the grounds that they are needed and that at some point scarcity of these resources is likely to set it. Imitating Joan Graffius, I have just taken a position in USU, the largest uranium processor, in case nuclear power plants become more acceptable.

I have some pipeline companies but nothing in the drillers. Do you have any of the drilling equipment/oifield service stocks?
