The same idea is putting some bollinger bands around the VIX chart.

You watching the bonds I see. Old rates just won't stay down will they. Bond market sees inflation on the horizon -- end of story. What will they do now? What other unbelievable manipulation can they pull to bring the world's smartest traders into line? LOL

I think this is in line with your post. But if you scroll down to the 5yr vixn chart you will be able to see the higher highs and higher lows the vixn has made lately. I think this indicates that investors are aware that tech valuations are too high and it takes less and less complacency to cause a selloff.

The same can be said for the vix but its not quite as noticeable.
