First, Slider posts his MARGINED portfolio, second his portfolio turns to shit with the exception of the 10% of it that's in the oils, third he taunts the rig board CLAIMING large gains. I think there's something wrong with this picture but then I have a hard time with SD11 new math. Here are the posts outlining this odd journey: Slider's message: ............................................................messages.yahoo.com <<I've taking profits; just rolling over "some" (not all, not most) of my profits into some out of the money - highly levered calls in case we get an event driven spike from the War... all in all; given the still slowing global economies and the present commodity prices - OSX is fairly valued here. "THE TURN" was a trade...30-50% pops in the bank... thanks again guys - now I get to roll some Oil trade profits back into a little goldstock pullback & get to do it all over again... rolling trading waves - gotta love it.>> The reply: ............................................................ Dang Slider, you're too easy by: cnyndwllr [ Ignore ] 10/24/01 12:58 am Msg: 26415 of 26693 <<I just dropped in and I see you "taunting the unwashed" and "rolling over profits." I find that amusing since the last time I dropped in I noticed you were predicting a triple digit nasdaq and claimed to be invested for the drop. I thought that was crazy but hey I'm not the one that's never wrong, wrong, wrong, never wrong--------------. Let's see, now where did those profits come from. Less than 3 weeks ago, at about 9 am on the 3rd of October it looked like another bad day in Black Rock for the broad market as the nasdaq dropped to about 1480. You jumped right on that bandwagon and said you were short AND MARGINED. Your words were:messages.yahoo.com ; mid=26153 "FWIW; I'm: - 25% short the broad market - 10% long Oilpatch - 65% long gold/silver stocks (trading between 40-65%) - Cash from "0" to margined, up to 25% cash" FWIW, that was a bad call, in fact some might say a really bad call. The nasdaq went up from 1480 when you made your call to end up at 1580, THAT DAY. Gold has dropped, the nasdaq and the broad market has rallied and only your 10% oils have made any money. Are you rolling the profits off of that 10% of your portfolio into margin calls? Is that what you meant when you said today that: " I've taking profits; just rolling over "some" (not all, not most) of my profits into some out of the money - highly levered calls...." gg. If you're going to taunt the rest of us, at least give most of us enough credit to see through such thinly veiled puffery. By the way, where IS Supplyside. I read his posts every time I found one. He was no grandstander but he could sure think. Don't you belong back on the inbred thread where never is heard a disparaging word; at least not twice with Frank on that switch to save you from reality checks. From that same tale we learn that "the words mean what I mean them to say." Obviously Slider and Isosmug are well versed in the moral of that story. g. Ed, detective inc.
