Constantine, <why doesn't the P3 make it to 2Ghz if the aluminum process is so GOOD?>

I've got a better question. Why doesn't the "7th generation" Athlon make it to 2.0 GHz if AMD's copper process is so GOOD?

Forgive me for being blunt, but if you don't want a stupid argument, don't ask stupid questions.

Tench, ok I know you guys are pretty intelligent. According to your argument ( and Paul's ) why doesn't the P3 make it to 2Ghz if the aluminum process is so GOOD?

Because it's a much older design, going back to the days when significantly greater than 1 GHz wasn't anticipated as early as it got here. Ergo, it was not expected to have to get up into those frequencies.

Don't patronize.
