Look at the multi-millions that Big Business funneled to the Republican Party in the last presidential election. Then look at the obscene GOP "economic stimulus bill" that passed the House on a 216-214 vote two weeks ago. IBM receives $1.4 billion in tax rebates, GM and GE around a half-billion each, on and on and on. Does the word "payback" start to flash in your mind?
