"Creative destruction" sounds like a phrase used at some elitist business school.

The difference between you and me is that when I read about the meltdown at Enron, my heart goes out to the hundreds of workers who will be laid off because some studs at the top decided to play a high-risk poker game with the shareholders' money ... and lost.

The guy who loses in this ain't the fat cats at the poker game. They've already got their millions salted away at some offshore bank in the Caribbean. The big loser in this sordid affair is the guy who has toted a lunch pail to Enron for 25 years ... and now finds himself out of a job with a kid in college and mortgage payments to make.

Yeah. This is the American way. Sounds to me like lots of Big Businesses don't need any help from Uncle Sam to break down. They're doing a fine job all on their own.
