Brushwud, Re: "We? In your dreams do you have something to do with Intel's performance?"

It was a direct quote from the Intel CC. "We" means Otellini, Bryant, and the rest of Intel.

Re: "Share gained in one period can be lost in another."

Funny how you never seem to admit this when AMD brags about gaining market share. According to you, if Intel gains, it can be won back, but if AMD gains, it will only go up, Up, UP!

Re: "So Intel loses money on every bit of flash they make. That division is part of Barrett's Communications group, the result of his "strategy" that may never bear fruit."

First of all, Flash is part of WCCG (the Wireless Group), not ICG (the Communications Group). Second, there is no breakdown of the WCCG, so how do you know Flash is losing money? WCCG also includes StrongARM and X-Scale (which have only recently had a boon of design wins), as well as wireless products using 802.11a and 802.11b. Finally, any costs due to recent technology gained from acquisitions will drive up the costs for this division. In third quarter, WCCG lost $50 million. I don't think it will take much to put this division in positive territory, but I won't assume you'll share in this opinion. My only point is that of all the WCCG segments, Flash is just one of them, so you can't assume they are losing money.

BrushDUD - Re: "? Share gained in one period can be lost in another."

Good point - AMD just proved that when they lost CPU market share as WELL as Flash market share in Q3.

Hard for you Droids to accept - isn't it?

BrushDUD - So AMD loses money on EVERY CPU they make. That division is part of Sanders' Computation group, the result of his "strategy" that may never bear fruit.
