Excellent observations. Negative reaction to earnings misses is going to be the signal..at least for the shorter term traders.

More than anything else, the beginning of negative reactions to earnings misses will signal to me when the market is due for a correction of the recent strong advance.

Response to NTAP earnings was pretty negative today. And NTAP has been pretty hot lately.

Just heard on CNBC that Senate has either blocked or tied up economic stimulus package. I was half-listening and didn't get the details. However, the perception that a 100 billion stimulus may be delayed by partisanship and pork-barrel politics may be a story which plays out over the next few weeks that weighs negatively on the market.
