wbmw, I do not see it as ridiculous, in any event the AMD 64 bit is not here either.
The MP will make it's way, slowly, but it is good enough to get a share. While it is true that serverspace changes slowly, it can and does change and what change there is occurs with the smaller new players who are looking to enter the field, they are able to try AMD more easily.
The 6 months is not long for any major player to have evaluated the MP. Any evaluation that occurs will stay nehind closed doors ans no-ne wants to aggravate Intel and say they are doing an eval on the MP, so they keep quiet.
The first we will hear is after thay have tried and, qualled it and started to make some volume. Remember they see high prices and want lower prices, what better way than to shake up Intel with a few AMD design wins.

Actually Intel offers a few things more but if these are not available at AMD they're not really needed :-)
