Two forces tomorrow--IBM positive comments OR AMAT's guidance. Third might be the anticipation of Dell's earnings..and could affect the market late afternoon Thursday.

AMAT weaker than expected but they are more detached from end demand. I personally think their earnings this quarter are going to be better than they are guiding. My concern about AMAT was only because the stock along with other semis had already rallied this week and there was some chance of pullback by now on neutral or negative news. I don't directly own this one and have not for a while. Prefer to buy stock in AMAT's customers, the chip companies instead..very bullish on those for some more gains in the coming months. Going to keep some more semi equipment stocks on the watch list for buying opportunities.

IBM saying that IT spending coming back. That would be the battle tomorrow. I think IBM view will prevent a selloff in the Nasdaq.

JMHO.
