Good point and new tech should get us a better ID than we have now. Still a person could live underground and have someone else do the shopping.

OBL has projected us into a way different world.

Hi KLP ... but "GOVERNMENT DISCLOSURE" is an oxymoron. Look at the military tribunal order today: this makes the Executive Branch alone the judge, jury and executioner, with no recourse, no rules of evidence, and complete secrecy from US citizens.

They say this applies to foreigners only, but in fact the definition of "terrorism" is being expanded dramatically in the US to include citizen actions such as "obstructing" an investigation. All a government official has to do is declare that they don't like something while searching your home, and you end up in a secret tribunal. A government official can come to your house and shoot you, without review by any other branch of government.

We have no formal declaration of war; the rules of normal prosecution already allow for keeping any necessary military secrets; McVeigh and the WTC bomber terrorists were prosecuted normally unhampered, without this Executive Order. There's no reason for this elimination of oversight. There's something else the government wants to keep us from knowing.

Not good, my friends.

And that one ID card will link every bit of information about you and every transaction you enter into into a mainframe owned and operated by the US government.

The Federal Government will know what groceries you buy at the grocery store, the brand of condoms you use, and the flavor of beer you buy and how often, in real time, just for starters.

Who wants that?
