Can one put a price tag on shoe leather and hustle?

Of course you can. Whether the support to the candidate is money or labor, it still buys the candidate. The price is the candidate's vote. I am not suggesting that there is anything wrong with unions protecting their interests by participating in the process, but I think business is likewise entitled. There are no saints in politics. I also agree that many times free labor is better than money.
