Carolyn, on your desktop right-click on the My Computer icon, then left-click on Properties. Under the tab General you will find te Computer type and memory.

You can also find this info when starting up the computer, although you need to be fast at reading the info on the screen as it does not stay up for long.

Also, on the bottom left of the initial screen at boot time the instructions for entering the BIOS will be displayed. This varies for different makes, but in general if you hit the <Delete> key at start up (several times to make sure the system detects the key at the correct time) it will get you to the BIOS. The <F1> key is common on IBM systems and some others also.

Once in the BIOS, the Processor type, speed, memory available can be found under various headings depending on the BIOS make.

Regards,
Nick
