"it pays a div. of 7%+," speaks fairly loudly in this environment. I think of it as a way of having your cake and eating it, too. You get leveraged exposure to upside in the price of gold and you get paid for your time and money. If you're looking for pure cap gains, other things will probably appeal more. But if you want/need income while you wait, it ain't half bad by a long shot. And, especially with the recent deal, the chances of NEM going to zero are... well, damn near zero, IMHO. <g> Disclosure: I currently have no position in any NEM securities. S
