"That's not so bad"??
That's a matter of opinion. I happen to think that non assimilation IS bad for the health of a country.

Keep in mind..He's not discussing eating different kinds of food, or tastes in music, or those types of things.
It's about frame of mind and loyalties, and way of life.

IMO one of the biggest reasons why America became the great nation it is today was because people basically forgot about the past and adopted America as their country, and worked for the goal of making America a great country, and although still claimed some ties to the "old country", they really weren't that adamant about it.
Fighting battles fought 1000 years ago, and spending all your time rehashing old wounds is a dead end street for a country's progress, IMO.

It's one of the reasons why we were called "the new world".
It was a fresh start for everyone.

If they want to keep all their tired old vendettas and their tired old baggage, let them stay in their own country and not come here, they'll only drag us down to their tired ass level.
