But even if the situation in Afghanistan is handled perfectly, the problem is far from solved, as others have noted. America has earned a reputation in the world of lacking perseverance. Time & time again after an attack American politicians bluster about their intentions, lash out with some air strikes etc, then fail to follow thru. --- This time may be different.
