fyo, Yes, indeed, Intel is touted as a large producer. when they cannot suupy there is a problem and in fat the shortfall of P4 has impacted the Athlon market and increased demand there to the point where AMD is sold out. A 5% shortage on the part of Intel is equal to 25% of AMD production and is understandable. This also makes demand for more AMD mobos and makes AMD a better and more viable alternative to Intel parts and mobos

No. Where did I say that? I think both Intel and AMD are sold out because demand exceed supply. In fact, that's always the case when you sell out a certain product. But since both AMD and Intel lowered prices some weeks ago, it doesn't appear that they artificially lowered demand because of restrained supply. It's probably the other way round. I am already looking forward to Intel's mid quarter update in early December.
