MSNBC STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS

WASHINGTON, Nov. 15 — Congressional leaders were said to be near agreement on a national aviation security bill Thursday morning, according to NBC News. The agreement is expected to include federalization of airport screeners for one year. Government inspectors have found some 90 security breaches at U.S. airports in the past two weeks, an official told Congress on Wednesday, describing “alarming” lapses in flying safety two months after Sept. 11
