You're right IMO. A country cannot stand divided. Lincoln knew that. People DID come here and left their tired as old ways behind them and made an effort to "get with the program" and make their new country theirs and fit in and work for the future. The last 30 years IMO has seen the emergence of 'the hell with the new world" we're going there to make it like it is "at home" and change everything here and with that attitude they hate the guy next door because 1500 years ago his cousin killed their dog, back in "the old country", on that rainy Tuesday in march. The hell with that attitude. Leave it at your border when you get on the plane to come here or don't come, is how I feel. We're not begging them to come here.
