Hi, Karen.

Well, we are considering the pros and cons. All I've seen is cons, and am waiting for the pros (other than those accruing to Larry Ellison and others like him who would personally profit).

I think putting technical feasibility at the forefront puts the cart before the horse. In fact, it's dangerous, because once a huge investment is made in feasibility, people might lose sight of whether it's a good idea or not, assuming that it is.

I have a virtually guaranteed solution to prevent skyjackings, and it's technically feasible. Is it desirable? No. Before takeoff, incapacitate all the passengers by locking them into their seats like they do on roller coasters, or administering anesthesia and knocking them out until the plane lands.

A side economic benefit for the airlines would be to eliminate the need and cost of flight attendants and in-flight meals. It wouldn't even matter if people had knives on board, because they couldn't use them. -g
