ATC is "Ancillary Terrestrial Component" which basically means putting a limited cell system on the ground... Thanks, RS. Understood. So there's no magic in second constellation satellites, at least as regards the urban canyon and indoor reception issues. Have they, to your knowledge, ever worked out a "soft handoff" between cell and satellite of different frequencies? I understand it would not address the phone size isue. It also occurs to me that, since the bulk of the minutes on an existing cell / sat system would go to cell, successor G* would need a way to tap revenues from cell minutes. Maybe that's why LWIN is an attractive cell partner - limited mobility guarantees G* lots of "out of cell coverage" minutes. Thanks for the response. Pierre
