But if you don't think it's a problem, every so often there is something in the news about the hundreds of illegal Middle Eastern aliens who are being detained as a direct result of 911. THAT is a problem that a mandatory universal ID system would solve. Most of the hijackers had multiple fake IDs on them, like driver's licenses, pilot's licenses. No way to do that if each person is required to show an ID that can't be faked before they get a driver's license.
