Duron 1200 totally dominates P4 1500 + SDRAM

There is a comparison between the Duron 1200 and the Celeron 1200 at tecChannel.de, see tecchannel.de

The Duron 1200 wins against the Celeron, no question. But what makes this article so interesting is that there is also a large number of other CPUs included in the tests, from VIA's C3 733 up to the Pentium4 1500 with SDRAM.

Now comes the funny part: Even when coupled with PC133 SDRAM, the Duron wins 12 out of 17 tests against the P4 1500+i845 combo. When coupled with a KT266A board and DDR DRAM the Duron 1200 wins 14 out of 17 benchmarks against the P4 1500 with one test being equal. So the P4 1500 wins only 2 benchmarks against the Duron. - Only 2 out of 17!!

It is a shame that, in general, Intel gets along with that horrible performance of the P4+i845 combo (at least tecChannel.de advises not to buy it). I wonder what the general public would say if *AMD* had released such a dog...
