Now, let's see your list of people who were hired today.

No different than lists you could have created during the Clinton years, or Bush years or Reagan years.....

The needs of employers change and as some sectors retrace, others expand.....

More lame BS.

Demolib gooood. Republican baaaaaaaaad....

"Somebody needs to tell these 34,620 workers that Happy Days Are Here Again. I don't think they got the message, Mr. Cummings"

If the economy does improve (which it appears is happening)there will be more jobs available. Look at the bright side flapjack!

Or we could all adopt your doom and gloom views. But I like the positive outlook better. Probably doesn't sell to well to your constituents. Maybe a tax break for the corporations would help them retain or hire employees.
Nah, that won't work according to you because the corps just want to "piss" on their employees as you like to say.

flapjack, maybe you could point out where in that article the author, or anyone else commented, "Happy Days are here again"?

It might make a nice sounding union jingle but that's about it.

It's rarely a pleasant situation when companies have to lay off people in order to remain viable. However, I have yet to see you put forth an economic plan which would completely eliminate layoffs. Even the Japanese are now discovering that guaranteed lifetime employment is not completely sustainable.

And just to be somewhat accurate, your number of 34,620 is oversimplified rhetoric. How many of those employees are going to get large severance packages and retire early? How many of those employees are volunteering to retire early? And how many of those employees (Burlington for instance) are going to end up keeping their job after the shake-up?

The simple fact is you don't know. But, you're more than willing to believe the worst case gloom-and-doom scenario because it fits your mental image, and radical leftists views of "evil corporations" and "evil capitalism".

Finally. You know, full employment is inflationary. This is because of union thugs like you. A little equilibrium was sorely needed.

Perhaps those CEOs will manage their companies a little better now.
