this just in: A tornado has touched down in Hays County near Buda, moving northeast along Interstate 35 around mile marker 217.

The tornado uprooted trees and rolled an 18-wheeler.

The 18-wheeler is blocking the northbound lanes of I-35. No injuries are known at this time.

Officials advise that those planning to travel south on I-35 towards Buda find alternative routes or wait.

Austin, Buda, Garfield, Onion Creek, Rollingwood and Tanglewood Forest are in the path of these storms as they track north along Interstate 35.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Travis and Hays counties until 4 pm.

If you are caught outside, seek shelter in a nearby reinforced building, or as a last resort, seek shelter in a culvert, ditch or low spot and cover your head with your hands.
