Will, Re:Dell has always been intc exclusive, has worked closely and well with intc, is now taking market share - as is intc - there could be a correlation. Maybe that is why their competitors are becoming intc exclusive too.

The 100% Intel company, Dell, reported earnings today that were pretty good: exceeded earnings by a penny per share and revenues were at the high end of expectations. I heard a brief interview with Michael Dell on CNBC and he said Dell is accelerating in gaining market share over all the rest: up 6% in the US. Says same here in this Business Wire clip.

"By consistently meeting customer requirements, we're gaining share faster than ever in Dell's history. Our structural cost advantage gives customers great value, at the same time we're profitably increasing share. We're positioning ourselves exceptionally well for when the economy and spending on information technology improve."

Over the past four quarters, Dell has added six points of overall U.S. market share, from 20 to 26 percent; to grow from 14 to 20 percent took more than two years. Dell's operating-expense advantage over its closest competitor was 52 percent in the third quarter, up from 32 percent one year ago.

They see their best growth opportunity going forward to be in servers and storage, and expect to keep gaining in PCs also. Dell servers are 100% Intel also.

Conference call at 4:45 CDT (2:45 PDT).
